It's a good way to help get the most out of your Foundation Membership!

Membership Renewal

Thanksgiving often serves as a reminder that there are many reasons for us to be thankful. We are thankful for the vibrant group of members that have helped support the Foundation through the past 65 years.

As mentioned during our Annual Meeting, The Carmel Foundation does not accept any government funding and each of the vital programs, including low-income housing, our lunch program, and homebound meal delivery, run a deficit.

While the minimum membership remains at just $45 per person, we encourage you to support your fellow community seniors by making a membership contribution that is meaningful to you.  Membership renewals will be mailed mid-November.

You may renew either via the remittance envelope enclosed with your printed Newsletter or can renew safely online via our website.  Thank you for your renewal and your continued support.

MC Gives

Pick up a copy of MC Weekly on November 12 and you’ll see that The Carmel Foundation was one of the local non-profits to be selected for this year’s MC Gives campaign. MC Gives is a collaboration between MC Weekly, the Community Foundation for Monterey County and the Monterey Peninsula Foundation. This group leverages philanthropy by matching a percentage of each donation made by an individual donor. Because of these matching funds, donations that are made to The Carmel Foundation via MC Gives are increased by approximately 14%. If interested in making a donation to The Carmel Foundation via the MC Gives program, you can:

1.  Go to the MC Gives website (DONATE NOW) and search for The Carmel Foundation to make your donation.
2.  Mail a check noting the designation to The Carmel Foundation, including the donation form, to MC Weekly, 668 Williams Avenue, Seaside, CA 93955, Attn: MC Gives. Checks need to be made out to the Community Foundation for Monterey County.
3.  Deliver a check, including the donation form, in person to the Foundation’s reception desk.

Anne Albano Retires

It is with mixed emotions that we say good-bye to Anne Albano. We wish her the best in her retirement but will miss her terribly. For fifteen years, she has been a vital part of The Carmel Foundation. Her leadership of the housing, homebound meal, medical equipment loan, support group and Wednesday programs will be sorely missed. Anne could always be counted on when anyone needed help or advice. Her last day will be September 4. Stop by and wish her the best.

Welcome Leticia

Leticia Bejarano has been named the new Director of Support Service. She has a BA from CSUMB in Social and Behavioral Science and a Masters in Professional Psychology. She is highly experienced having worked at the YWCA managing the shelter and advocacy and most recently at Shelter Outreach Plus as the Program Director with responsibility for their emergency shelters. She is very excited to join our team. Please join us in welcoming Leticia to The Carmel Foundation.
